  • As of 2019, this was the last time Hong Kong's most famous film actors (Colloquially called as the Three Brothers because they all attended the famous China Drama Academy in Hong Kong at the same time) Jackie Chan, Sammo Kam-Bo Hung, and Biao Yuen appeared in a movie together.
  • On the Hong Kong Legends DVD release of this movie, Hong Kong cinema expert Bey Logan offers his opinion of why this movie underperformed both in the domestic and Japanese markets. The primary reason cited is that the actors played roles against type. Jackie Chan plays a slick lawyer who chases women, in contrast to the happy-go-lucky everyman characters he usually plays. Similarly, Biao Yuen plays an eccentric and possibly mentally disturbed character, rather than the underdog character fans were used to. For Sammo Kam-Bo Hung, rather than the timid character that's been described in earlier movies, he instead plays like a rascal. Logan explains that in general, the cinema-going public in Hong Kong are not as open to such departures of role as, perhaps, the public in the West would be.
  • Benny "The Jet" Urquidez has a kickboxing record of fifty-three fights. Forty-nine wins, one loss, one draw, and two no contests. He holds a black belt in Kenpo, Judo, Jujutsu, Shotokan Karate, Taekwondo, Kajukenbo, and Kendo.
  • In the factory fight scene, Kar Lok Chin doubled for some of Jackie Chan's footwork.
  • Feature film debut of Crystal Kwok (Jackie's Assistant).
  • Theme song is sung by Jackie Chan and Anita Mui.
  • Of all the Peking Opera Academy "brothers", Jackie Chan, Sammo Kam-Bo Hung, Biao Yuen, Corey Yuen, and Wah Yuen worked on this movie.
  • The restaurant where Jackie fights in the opening scene is the same restaurant as Tye One in Touch and Go (1991), also starring Sammo Kam-Bo Hung.
  • Filmed between September and November 1987.
  • In Japan, this movie's title translates as "Cyclone Z".
  • Jackie Chan directed some of the factory fight scene.
