  • Shot on Super-8 film on an estimated budget of $350.
  • The original title for the film was Desperate Teenage Runaways. Producer Kim Fowley who owned the name of the all-girl rock band The Runaways made director David Markey change it (because of the similarities).
  • Rights to the recordings on the soundtrack were not obtained, so the songs were replaced with new songs or cover versions. However, many of the original introductions remain.
  • Kitty is sitting in bed reading a paperback, with visible cover and spine: Jacqueline Susann's Valley of the Dolls, a book that features drug use by juveniles.
